By using custom made stickers you can choose your way of communication and even make funny stickers with your friends. And it’s even really simple!
So today we are going to explain how to create your first sticker pack for Telegram using your mobile device or from your PC.
What you need to get started
- Images of the stickers you want to add to your pack. This files should be PNG images, 512x512px and with a transparent background.
- Telegram messenger app on your Desktop or Smartphone (iOS or Android). We recommend using your Desktop as its easier to use.
- A chat with the stickers bot, you can start the bot by searching “stickers” directly on telegram or by clicking here (@stickers).
Create your own Telegram stickers
To get started just follow these steps:
- Start a conversation with the stickers Telegram bot.
- In the conversation window type /newstickerpack and press enter, this starts the creation of a new pack
- You are asked for the name of the stickers pack. So you have to write the chosen name for your pack and send it.
- Send the image of the sticker you want to use for your first sticker. To do this, click the file icon and select your file. Remember that the file should be a 512×512px PNG with a transparent background.
- Then the bot is going to ask you to send the emoji you’ll use for the sticker. Choose an emoji and send it. You can list several emoji in one message, but the bot reccomends using no more than two per sticker.
- Now you have your first sticker added to the pack. Keep adding the stickers you want by repeating steps 4 and 5.
- Once your pack is completed, simply send the message /publish. The bot will ask for a short name for the pack, ( no spaces ), wich is needed for the URL and then you will have your own set of stickers.
As you have seen, the process of creating a custom Sticker set for Telegram is really simple. Feel free to comment below if you have any questions or problems.
Once created your own Telegram sticker pack, share it with your friends and if you wish, send your sticker pack to us, so we can publish it on our website!
Features of the Sticker Bot
The bot has a few commands you can use:

/addsticker add a new sticker to a previosly created
/delsticker remove a sticker from a created pack
/ordersticker reorder stickers in a pack
/stats get usage stats for a specific Telegram sticker you created
/top ee the top added stickers in your pack
/packstats get usage stats for a single Telegram sticker pack
/packtop see stats of your 5 most popular sticker packs
/cancel cancel previous command
Are copyrights problematic? For example if I want to create World of Warcraft or Star Wars stickers.
Unfortunately yes. You can try creting a pack and see if it get’s removed. If not you are ok. Usually they contact telegram directly for this issues because they can’t know who made the pack.
I’m facing problem with Telugu language, so please add Telugu language
Hi, unfortunately there is no support for Telugu Language at the moment.
telegram said that the file is too big. what to do?
Unable to create new sticker pack. Says blocked user.
Was your username blocked by Telegram? Try to contact their support team in chat.
No matter how small i make my stickers it always tells me its to big.
To big in px size or too big in kb?
You need to match one side of the size with 512 the other should be less or 512…. i also put the size as 300 x415 example but cannot. Actually you need one side of the pic to match size with 512
I’m trying to add a file but it’s making the sticker transparent. I’m using a jpeg to png converter because I’m using an art program that does not save transparent backgrounds.
What should I do?
I think that a converter is not the best option. I think you should open the file with Photoshop/Illustrator and remove the coloured background and leave it transparent. Then export the file as a png.
Just leave it thats it 😉
I saw mentioned in a post regarding making stickers for a similar messaging app that there are apps that erase backgrounds in PNG files. maybe it’s worth looking around.
For example if you want to delete background of a person you can use remove.bg which is a great and good working website.
how to add a new sticker in existing pack?
Just use this command: /addsticker [link to other pack]
i keep getting message: Please attach the image as a file (uncompressed), not as a photo. doesnt matter how i save the png. Im using gimp and corel photo
That’s actually a strange behaviour, are you following the guide correctly when importing the image into the chat?
me too help me
Are you doing this from a computer?
I also get this message. No matter what I try it still get this message. As far as I know I am doing exactly as instructed.
“Please attach the image as a file (uncompressed), not as a photo.”
Did we will get paid for submiting sticker pack??
No, there’s no payment for submitting Sticker packs to Telegram
Suppose I create a sticker pack and that I send the “/publish” message. Is it public then? Or am I (and the people I send it to) the only one to see it?
hi, the sticker pack is visible only to people you send the link or a single sticker.
Will the stickers be available to everyone? can it be private?
Hi, the stickers are private until you don’t share them in publick using a link or one single sticker.
Are NSFW stickers allowed?
There’s no limit on telegram, you can make stickers out of everything 😉
After sending my photo and it is approved I get a message “Please send us an emoji that best describes your sticker.” What does it mean? Is this emoji going to be used to send the sticker later? I tried few which I think fit my sticker (like this for example 8-o ) but the bot coninues giving me the same message. What kind of emoji am I supposed to choose?
You just need to choose an emoji from your telegram emoji set and send it to the bot.. It should work normally
hello dears;
I can`t select the acceptable public link for my sticker pack.please advise me.
best regards
What’s the problem? Can you explain better?
Is there a way to change the rules of the file size? My emotes are 250×250 and I want to use them on telegram.
the only thing you can do is put your sticker inside a 512×512 png file…
are only published packs that have problems with copyright? or is it private packs too?
Hello in theory there are no public or private sticker packs. But if you only give your sticker pack to people you know who don’t share it into large groups, you’ll never have any copyright problems.
I don’t understand how to do the fifth step, sending the stickers. It’s very confusing and you aren’t being specific enough. Can someone please help me?
Hi, first of all you have to use the Mac or Windows version because via smartphone it doesn’t always work well.
Simply send the image as an attachment or drag it over the chat window with the bot. It is important not to add the image through the selection of the gallery but to select attachment because that way the image is not compressed.
thanks for this tutorial, but i am also interested in the emoji infact i want to know how can we create our set or custom emoji and how to turn the stickers in to emoji , i need to know that because i like to have the rage guy meme (yao ming, troll face etc) as emoji and not only as stickers
Can you edit and add more stickers to a pack that has already been published?
Yes of course you can. Simply start the process of adding a sticker and the bot will ask you to choose a sticker pack to edit.
by creating stickers is that turning my photo into a cartoon style character, thats what i want, but when i created the sticker it just posted the picture id submitted
Well I wish there was a software or something that’d make converting and resizing the pics easier. Pictures to be used as stickers have too many requirements and if someone wants to make many packs with as many items as possible this’d most likely take days. 🙁
There are some appf for Android and Ios but nothing really that helpful
Use adobe mix. Super easy to resize images and remove backgrounds, and export as .png
Hi, i would like to check how can i earn money from the stickers that i publish on Telegram?
Thanks and i look forward to your reply.
There’s actually no way to earn money. When you publish stickers they are available free for everyone. The only thing you can do is create stickers and a personal brand on you for creating stickers.
Hi, no matter how I size my photos within 512×512, exporting it as a png with transparency, Telegram doesnt accept my images in as a sticker. I’ve set my document on Photoshop as 512x512px, but telegram still refuses to accept them. Why is this so?
Hi.
Is there a way that only I can use the stickers I made? I don’t want the person I sent the sticker to be able to get the stickers I made. It seems like when they hold the sticker I sent for a few seconds there’s an option that they can get the whole sticker pack I made without asking permission first.
unfortunately this is not possible. there re no private sticker packs. all telegram stickers are public.
How do upload just the “cut out” portion of an image?
For example a friend doing a jumping Jack, I’ve cut them out so I just have the shape, but then how do I edit it so when it loads as a sticker there is no back round?
how to make the image fit 512×512 sqaure? i dont understand
Hi you have to use Photoshop or similar app to make your png image with 512×512 pixel resolution.
Hi, is there a way to track who create the stickers pack? I don’t want people find out that I’ve done it. Sorry my english!
